Ithaca upgraded to grade-4 410ga side by side shotgun, finely engraved with portrait of Lou Smith, “1871-1957” on left rear of receiver, background is pebble finished with Ithaca fine scroll, game bird on bottom offrame, triggerguard engraved and gold inlaid “Shelly Smith Jr. 1964”. Serial #469715. The gun shows 26” barrels with raised milled low-profile non-ventilated rib. The gun is nicely stocked in select walnut withbeavertail forend and wide checkering. The gun is choked “Modified” and “Modified”. The stock measures 13-1/2” from the front trigger to the end of the wood, 14-1/4” to the end of the hard-rubber pad which is old andstarting to deteriorate. The serial numbers on barrel, action, and beavertail forend are all serial numbered to match. The metal mount for forend is #47003, but is engraved to match and appears to be factory supplied. The gun shows double-triggers and standard extractors, and is marked “F” for Field on left inside of frame. The barrels show 95-98% finish, the frame shows 75-85% case color.
