Italian elliptical barrel flintlock blunderbuss With lock signed Giuseppe Fermi showing a well-done overlay of brass on barrel that is hand engraved and matching brass mounts. The blunderbuss measures 29 ¼” overall showing a 17” barrel that is flared at the muzzle measuring approximately 2” across the bore. The metal surfaces show a deep brown patina that is un-cleaned. The stock shows a duffel bag cut and restoration to the forward 11” of the fore stock. There is an interesting and unusual trapdoor at the top of the wrist which flips open and could house an extra flint. The lock shows its proper flintlock hammer and small parts. Est.: $800-$1,600.
