Italian Schiavona basket hilt broadsword circa 1660-1725, measuring 39-7/8" overall with 1-1/2" wide blade showing deep blood grooves that extend 27" down blade. The blade shows light old engraving which mayhave been an armorer's type mark. The grip is a very old replacement as the pommel nut shows a deep patina. The blade is well forged and shows light to heavy pitting; the hilt is nicely made and shows qualityforging. Provenance Czerny (Italy), Auction 7, #878, 5/15/02, where it fetched approximately $2,500. Est.: $1,250-$2,500

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
