Pair of 19th century ironstone apothecary jars are hand painted in blue and yellow with off white background. Heavy glazing. Black and gold accents in the names displayed on the front and lining around the bottom. "Boldo" the evergreen bush from Chile and Mediterranean side of Europe whose leaves were used for heart burn and indigestion and "Menta" used to treat thyroid and heart disease. Two tiny spots on rim where the paint has worn with minute chip otherwise no chips,nicks or cracks. Measure 9H X 4.75W.
