1944, London, England. Three Per Cent Debenture Stock of the London & North Eastern Railway Company. Black. Litho. Issued to Major General Gerald Walter Robert Templer (1898 - 1979). British military commander who rose to the rank of Field Marshal. He was appointed High Commissioner of Malaya and successfully put down the communist insurgency known as the “Malaya Emergency”. The lower right corner is dampstained. Lightly stamp and punch cancelled.
