Union general. LS, one page, lightly-lined, 5.5 x 8.5, March 15, 1896. Letter to a gentleman. In part: “I have complied with your request so far as relates to the autograph copy, and will take pleasure in sending to you a photograph taken at the close of the war in uniform of Brig. Genl.” Professionally inlaid into a slightly larger sheet. A couple unobtrusive repairs passing through the signature, otherwise fine condition.
