On sale is a very rare and large "Islamic Fatimid Ceremonial Glass Goblet" circa 950A.D. to 1,100A.D. Featured is a Fatimid Period decorative mold cast glass that was used for libations. The large glass piece has a symbolic fish, as well as other geometric designs, inscriptions from the Koran and a Fatimid Period Herald! The wide mouthed glass tapers down perfectly to a narrow and solid concave base. Known for their excellence in stylistic Islamic art, the Fatimid period craftsmen fashioned this glass vessel with diligence to detail and perfection only seen in select museum artifacts! This crisp white, rare goblet has some age cracks and intact. It is in very good condition with areas of inner encrustation and iridescence. Small hair line fracture.
