On sale is an extremely rare and large "Islamic Fatimid Amphora" circa 950A.D. to 1,100A.D. Featured is a Fatimid Period decorative mold cast blown glass amphora that was used for libations. The piece is covered with floral as well as other varied geometric designs and inscriptions from the Koran! It has two separately fused handles and the vessel body tapers down to ball nipple. Known for their excellence in stylistic Islamic art, the Fatimid period craftsmen fashioned this glass vessel with diligence to detail and perfection only seen in select museum artifacts! This crisp white and very rare amphora is in exquisite condition with areas of iridescence.
