Pseudonym of prominent Danish author Karen Blixen (1885–1962), best known for her account of life in Kenya, Out of Africa, later adapted into an Academy Award–winning film. ALS in Dutch, signed “Tanne,” on a 3.5 x 5.5 picture postcard, no date, but postmarked February 1959. Postcard to a friend. In part (translated): “I feel exceptionally wonderful. I am completely overwhelmed by the kindness all people show towards me and I wish I could stay here for a long time.” In very good condition, with moderate creasing and soiling to both sides, and address faded.
