Isaac Isaacsz. (Amsterdam 1599 - 1665) studio The Feast of Herod, oil on canvas, 128 x 265 cm, w/o frame, (Wo).€ 12.000 - 16.000 US $ 11.880 - 15.840 As Ludwig Meyer points out this painting shows marked similarities with Isaac Isaacz' "Freudenfest auf den Frieden von Münster und Osnabrück 1648" It is also noteworthy that the painter integrates the feast of Herod into the right half of the picture, following the example of a Rubens painting at the National Gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh, which might be in accordance with the wishes of the person commissioning the painting, perhaps familiar with Rubens' work. The left half of the picture shows this client in armour and surrounded by his entourage. In Ludwig Meyer's opinion the armoured figure is either Prince Wilhelm II. of Orange (1626 - 1650), governor of the Netherlands, or Landgrafen Moritz of Hessia.
