Author-signed first edition of ''Foundation and Empire'' by Isaac Asimov. Gnome Press: New York: 1952. An excellent copy of the second book in the Foundation Trilogy, perhaps the best-known science fiction series of all-time. Asimov signs clearly on a bookplate on the front free endpaper. In the first state, unclipped Edd Cartier dustjacket and original red cloth boards. 5.5'' x 8.25'', 247pp. book shows light wear to edges and toning throughout. Dustjacket, pastedown and endpapers have light foxing. Overall near fine.
