Expressive and symbolic original color woodcut by American artist Irving Amen, titled Many Children Dwell in My Father's House. The composition presents six children gathered at a dinner table, each with distinctive facial expressions, unified under a symbolic sunburst. The table is adorned with intricate geometric patterns, rich in color and cultural motifs, reinforcing themes of family, diversity, and spiritual unity. Irving Amen was a prolific American artist, printmaker, and painter known for his deeply spiritual and humanistic themes. A master of woodcut and etching, Amen studied at the Art Students League in New York and traveled extensively, particularly to Italy and Israel, which strongly influenced his work. His art often focuses on themes of music, Judaism, and universal brotherhood. Amen's works are held in major institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian, the Vatican, and the Library of Congress. This work is hand-signed Amen in pencil at the lower right and inscribed A/P (Artist's Proof) at the lower left. The full title appears handwritten across the bottom margin. Housed in a carved gold and black frame with deep blue matting, the piece is presented under glass.
