Faberge kovsh from Moscow, crafted 1899-1908, not long before the Bolshevik take-over of the company and when Faberge produced its most exquisite objects. Kovsh, traditionally used for drinking mead, features a raised prow and hook handle. The body features allover scrolling multicolor cloisonne enamel on a teal and black ground. Stamped in Russian Cyrillic, ''K. Faberge'' with the imperial warrant, Moscow, overstriking the initials of Fedor Ruckert, 88 standard, with later Soviet control mark. Measures 3.25'' in length and 1.25'' in height. Near fine. A beautiful representation of the Faberge company during Imperial Russia.
