Intolerance 70MM Effects Negative
After the enormously controversial, but none the less completely groundbreaking "Birth of a Nation", that changed the course of motion pictures forever, director D.W. Griffith had total control to make any movie he wanted. And he indeed threw out all the limits. What he created was "Intolerance: Love's Struggle Through the Ages" (1916) , a 200 minute extravaganza the likes of which have never been seen before or since. It is the story of a poor woman separated by prejudice whose story is interwoven by tales of intolerance throughout history. It includes the most elaborate set ever created (and never duplicated in size or expense since) in the "Babylon" sequence (some of which is reproduced at the Hollywood and Highland complex in the center of Hollywood). Several years ago an extensive restoration was made of this staggering epic. Much of this was done by legendary award winning effects wizard Richard Edlund. This is a massive 9" 70MM negative of key sequences from this ultimate classic that have been painstakingly re-mastered to their original brilliance. Comes in the original box.
