Internment Camp Bulletin. Scarce and important issue of July 28, 1946, 4 pp., 13 x 18, mimeographed bulletin, in Hebrew, from the prison camp established by the British to hold captured members of Begin's Irgun and the Stern Gang. During the fighting for establishment of a Jewish state in the 1940s, the British sent these Jewish soldiers from Palestine to camps in Africa. On first page, portrait of Zeev Zabotinsky (spelled thus) and camp's watch tower and barbed wire fence. The British exiled 439 prisoners to camps in the Sudan, Addis Ababa, Kenya, and Eritrea. "...Far, far away from our homeland...we proudly wave the banner of proud Zion...." Pages stapled recently. Fine.
