Interesting presentation gold overlaid on silver Cigarette Case with 1938 presentation date. Front of case shows "FW" initials intertwined surrounded by enameled medallions, the names "D. Fueis" and "A. Boskolof", the reverse of the case shows th corners inlaid in gold that are inscribed "> Monti Riga" on left corner, "T. Doran Riga" on right corner, "R. Nesemoun Riga" in left bottom corner and the center is inlaid with a gold Russion coin with the inscription "Nico Dannewould (Hull)". A gold inlaid plaque is inscribed "A. Kuwald, Director Theaters Casino", interior of the box is inscribed with the initials "GW", interiro is inscribed in block letters "Zum Bleibenden Andenken Dein Vater Malmo 27, 3, 1938", interiorof the case is also hallmarked with what appears to be Russian hallmarks, the number "84" for silver content and the letters "FA". A very interesting pre-war cigarette case with a mystery of inscriptions to research. Est. $750-1,500.
