Interesting double-barrel pinfire rifle in .577 caliber marked “Jackson, Maker, New York” on barrels and locks, London proofed. Five-leaf graduated sights graduated at 1-500 yards (very optimistic or goodsalesmanship!) The gun remains in good to very good condition with traces of brown on barrels and case hardening on locks. Left hammer shows an excellent old repair. Bores are good, stocks are good to very good andshow some light cleaning but no sanding. Double-barrel pinfire rifles are scares, particularly with American names and this rifle is decidedly in the English style. It is possible that Jackson bought the barrelsand completed the rest of the rifle, or was just an agent. In any case, American marked double-barrel pinfire rifles are almost non-existent and it is the only one we recall selling in 40 years. Est: $3,000 - $6,000
