Interesting and important early tin type showing two gentlemen dressed in mid-19th century suits with large brim planters type hats popular in the California gold rush. One gentleman holds a Colt Wells Fargo model 1849 in his left hand and a proper Eagle flask in his right hand. The image is in very good condition and is missing its cover to case. The image measures approximately 3 1/4” x 2 ¾” to the inside dimensions. In 44 years of selling fine Colts and antiques we have never seen another tin type of a man holding a Wells Fargo variation of 1849 pocket model. Est.: $1,500- $3,000.
