Interesting European double action revolver of trademarked Excelsior and manufactured by S.J. & D in 9 mm center fire, double action with 6 shot cylinder, 11” overall with 6” octagon barrel. The left side of the frame is marked in a cartouche S. J & D. The bottom of the barrel is marked 5374 and the grips shows an Excelsior trademark on one side and SJ & D manufactures initials on the right. The left side of the revolver hinges away toexpose the action and the quality of machining is excellent. The metal retains 90% to 95% original nickel with some small losses and areas where the nickel is lost are just starting some light erosion andpinprick pitting. The grips are very good plus with some slight edge wear and the action works but not perfectly. The markings are sharp and the edges are crisp. This fine and rare European revolver is not often seen.
