Interesting Colt Model 1849 pocket model revolver, period scroll engraved with mismatched serial numbers and 6” barrel. The barrel shows Young style engraving with a script barrel address and is serial numbered 97575. The barrel shows a patina finish with some slight traces of blue and good edges and just normal aging. The loading lever is not engraved and is numbered 8845 and is missing the latch in the barrel. The cylinder is numbered 72126 and shows approximately 30% to 50% cylinder scene with some minor pitting and erosion. The frame shows early style bordered engraving and is number 59738. The straps are not engraved and are numbered 127083 and 116271. The grips are of the standard type and fit well. The action is good and generally good overall. This pocket has been married together since the period of use and was probably a frontier assembly by a gunsmith or armorer during Civil War.
