Interesting Allen Trapdoor conversion assemblage with cutout to make visible the operating mechanism; .58 cal., 30” barrel, 1864 dated Wm. Muir & Co. lockplate, sling swivels, iron cleaning rod, wood stock, #NVSN in overall good conditionshowing a grey/brown patina to barrel, dark patina to rest of metal surfaces, good bore, good action, good markings on lockplate, good wood stock with no visible proofs or cartouches; old loss on right front rail at forend cap, at leftside of upper tang and removal of wood at breech and arch of metal on trapdoor to display operating mechanism. Although unlikely accomplished at an armory, this cut-away is nevertheless very well accomplished and a neat collector piece!(Antique). Est.: $300-$600.
