Inscribed Metropolitan Arms Co. Police Model percussion revolver, .36 cal., 4-1/2” round barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #2158, all matching visible serial numbers, inscribed on back strap “Lieu George J. Robinson” and “C.B. o. T.B.” on the butt strap. This gun is in overall good condition showing an even dark brown patina on metal surfaces with several faint small areas of case color on the hammer and frame; one chamber of the fluted cylinder shows an old repair, good bore, action and markings; grips are good overall with the appearance of an old re-varnish. Metropolitan is accompanied by copies of the National Archives records for Lt. Robinson of the Chicago Board of Trade Battery, Illinois Light Artillery indicating his attachment to the Union’s Department of the Cumberland and at times, stationed in Nashville, Tennessee. Further research on this Officer should prove interesting. Est.: $600-$1,200.
