Inscribed/Engraved Pre-WWII Walther Mod. PP Semi-Automatic Pistol
This is an example of an engraved (possibly custom) pre-war Walther Mod. PP pistol. The pistol has a cartridge pin indicator, 60 degree safety lever, push-button magazine release and magazine with black plastic finger extension. The pistol has a blue finish and is fitted with two-piece, black, plastic, checkered grips with the Walther banner at the top. The pistol is decorated with non-factory scroll engraving, with the front grip strap inscribed "DerLandes-Ober Schutzenmeister Dr. Primbs" (no research has been done on the aforementioned individual), and the symbol of the Tiroler Standschutzen Verband (a Tyrolean Shooting Association) engraved on the left side of the frame below the magazine catch, indicating this as a shooting prize or presentation piece. The pre-war "Crown/N" proofmark is stamped on the right side of the slide and the barrel chamber and muzzle. The serial number, "138163 P" is pantagraphed vertically on the right side of the frame. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the Walther Banner followed by the factory legend and caliber in two lines and the designation "MOD PP".
