Inscribed Colt Model 1860 Army percussion revolver, .44 cal., 8” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, varnished wood grips, #41376 with inscription on backstrap “Capt. C. M. Lynch 145th Penn. Infy.V.”. This gun is inoverall very good condition showing all matching visible numbers including a “2” over the serial number on the barrel assembly and under the serial numbers of the frame, trigger guard and backstrap; there are traces of original blue in protected areas of the barrel and backstrap with generally visible light case colors on the frame and hammer; the brass trigger guard shows traces of original silver wash in protected areas; thebalance of the gun has a pleasing grey patina with considerable original cylinder scene visible, crisp action, very good markings, good bore and very good wood grips with approx. 60% original varnish still present.Accompanying this lot are copies of Captain Lynch’s service and pension records from the National Archives plus additional information on the regimental history of the 145th Penn.
