Ingrid Bergman Selznick Productions Dress Form
This is multi-Oscar winning actress Ingrid Bergman’s personal dress form used at the Selznick’s Studios during the 1940’s, when David O. Selznick put her under contract. It was most likely used to create her alluring costumes in many of Selznick’s productions including the two Alfred Hitchcock classic’s “Spellbound” (1945), and “Notorious” (1946). The special form, crafted from detailed measurements of Bergman’s chest and torso, sits on the original stand, and includes the original “Selznick Pictures” label with Ingrid Bergman’s name. This beautiful and striking piece of Hollywood history comes from the personal collection of Vera Johnson, one of Selznick’s personal employee’s, who worked with Mr. Selznick during this period and has been in the possession of her niece, Zaz Clark for the past fifty years. Dress form on stand is approx. 51" x 13").
