<B>Industrialists Peter Cooper and Cyrus Field Autograph Collection.</B></I> Ten items including: <B>Peter Cooper,</B></I> the inventor of the first steam powered railroad locomotive in America (called the <I>Tom Thumb</B></I>)- two Autograph Quotations Signed. In full: "<I>Men in all ages fail to realize the fact that Health consists with temperance alone- And peace, O, virtue, peace, is, all thine own.</B></I>" and "<I>Mankind will impose these conditions in proportion, as they come to know, that, what a man soweth that must he also reap, Some where, Some how, and at Some time, And that the Operation Laws so wise and good, that they will never require to be altered, amended or revoked</B></I>" Also, a Signature on a card of Cooper. <BR><BR><B>Cyrus Field,</B></I> led the company who laid the first successful telegraph cable across the Atlantic Ocean- an LS dated April 27, 1874 expressing thanks for sending a copy of a congressional speech on financial matters; an LS dated November 28, 1849, regarding the shipment of rope and the payment of the shipping charges; five checks drawn on the New York National City bank signed by Field.
