Thomas the Apostle seated right, on a block decorated with five pellets, pointing upward with right hand and holding carpenter’s square, divides S and T (Gomes 18 for type, unlisted in KM, Friedberg 1440). Very Fine+, Extremely Rare. Thomas the Apostle was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, according to the New Testament. He is informally called doubting Thomas because he doubted Jesus’ resurrection when first told, followed later by his confession of faith, ”My Lord and my God”, on seeing Jesus’ wounded body.
