Indo-Persian Jambiya / Khanjar Daggers 19-20th C
For your consideration are two Indo-Persian Jambiya / Khanjar daggers circa late 19th century to early 20th century. The first dagger is a Persian Khanjar dagger and features a beautiful, one piece steer horn handle and its original leather and wood sheath. The blade is nicely crafted and shows a slight curve towards the end of the blade. A medial ridge runs down the middle of each side of the blade. The blade and sheath show good condition overall with the leather on the sheath showing no stretching or tears. The second and slightly larger blade features a full metal construction and is housed in its original leather and wood sheath. The knife shows little designs throughout but shows good condition overall in the blade and handle. The leather has shrunk around the wood but is still connected well. Both blades show good condition overall with wear present from their age and use over the years but no signs of major damage is noted. The bone handle blade measures 9 3/8" L x 1 1/4" W x 1/2" D, while the full metal blade measures 10 5/8" L x 1 3/4" W x 3/4" D. They have a collective weight of 6 ounces.
