Indian percussion trade musket with Northwestern tribes carving and abalone shell inlays in stock, .68 caliber smoothbore, a whopping 48” round to octagon barrel, back action lock marked “H. Elwell Warranted”. This gun is in overall good untouched condition with a dark brown patina on metal surfaces and old moderate pitting on the breech end of the barrel from firing; good action, dark bore, brass trigger guard, butt plate and back end cleaning rod ferrule; pewter tip on stock fore end; overall good wood with deep Northwest Indian totem carvings on both sides of the butt stock and along the front portion of the fore stock area. There are also 12 abalone shell inlays included in the carved designing. The left breech side of the barrel shows two British proofs, there is light engraving on the underside of the trigger guard and a brass tipped wood cleaning rod is included. Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
