Indian or mid-eastern cane gun with concealed bar hammer percussion pistol brass mounted with engraved and silver inlaid barrel and grip portion. The cane measures 36-1/2” overall with 32-1/2” cane portion. The front end unscrews and a pistol measuring 11” overall with 6-1/4” barrel is revealed. The front end of the cane is just a bar of steel which would block a sword or be a good club. The pistol is approx 60 cal smooth bore andhas a folding thumb piece which cocks the bar hammer but the action is not working and the folding trigger does not drop. The metal surfaces show darkened silver damascened work and inlay which has darkened. The qualityis good. Action needs repair, circa mid 19th century. From an old N.Y. collector’s estate. Est.;$900-$1,800.
