Indian gauntlet-sword showing fancy pierce work, hand engraving and well-formed face at area at knuckle cover. The blade shows a running wolf, Soligen type mark and is period associated from a European broadsword blade of an earlier period. The sword measures 51-1/4” overall with 36-1/4” blade by 1-7/8” at widest part. The brass hilt and guard show a deep patina and are unpolished with light engraving. The blade shows a deep brown patina with light to moderate pitting and erosion. There is a hole drilled in a blade for mounting. Late 18th to 19th century. Hugh Hayes collection. Est: $400 - $800
