Indian Tulwar sword with finely chiseled steel hilt in floral design and marked blade circa 19th century. The sword measures 35-1/4” overall with 31” blade. The blade has stamped makers marks and scratched in date1828. The edge has been sharpened and blade lightly polished. The decorative work on hilt is exceptionally good and scarce. Working steel was more expensive and more difficult than any other decoration. The hilt shows anun-cleaned patina and is one of the best hilts on a Tulwar we have examined. Est.; $1,500-$3,000
