Indian Trading Post Sign - Tony's Blackfoot 1906-
This is an excellent original Indian Trading Post sign from Tony’s Blackfoot dating to circa 1906-1940’s. The sign is hand painted with all period correct pre-WWII paints on a tin Red Goose Shoes (for BOYS and GIRLS). Red Goose Shoes, originally Gieseke-D’Oench-Hayes, began branding as Red Goose Shoes in 1906 and was eventually merged and the brand was dropped in the 1940’s. This sign was likely from circa 1906-1920 and then repurposed for the Indian Trading Post in the 1920’s-1940. The sign reads, “genuine INDIAN MOCS Tony’s BLACKFOOT”. Likely a store from outside Glacier National Park in Montana, near the Blackfeet Reservation, where tribal items were sold to Glacier tourists. The sign has some paint loss, but overall displays very well and would make an extraordinary accent to your American Indian Moccasin collection. Measures overall 19”x13”.
