The letter pertains to William Jackson and his request from the Cherokee Nation to establish citizenship. It also mentions Dew Moore Wisdom as Indian Agent. Transcribed as follows: United States Indian Service Agency Jackson Tennessee July 1894 Capt Wm. Jackson Wagoner I.T. Dear Sir: I see by the Indian Territory papers that you and other white adopted Citizens of the Cherokee Nation desire to employ counsel to represent you in the courts at Washington, in order to secure your rights as such adopted citizens, as I understand it, your claim is a joint one, and the Cherokee Nation does an act of magnificent injustice in ignoring it. If I can close a contract to represent you and associates, I would be glad to do so, and if you want a reference as to my ability and standing as a Lawyer. I respectfully refer you to Hon. DM Wisdom U.S.I. Agent at Muskogee, who has known me for 25 years, and who can be relied on to represent me fairly to you. Let me hear from you. H.W. McCorry (Judge Henry Woods McCorry)
