Copper Paisa, VS 1830, coarsely engraved Persian legend on machine struck Planchet, citing Baba Nanak & Ranjit Singh (Herrli# 04.20.11). Slabed & Graded by PCGS./nlHerrli believes this piece to be a 'token' issue of the later part of the 19th century stuck in North India. The manufacturing style would indicate otherwise as this high quality type of striking was not being done anywhere in India at this time except at the Government mints in Bombay, Calcutta and Madras. It is possible a pattern of European origin
