Struck by Khem Sawant II by the permission of Abdul-Hameed Khan, the Mughal governor of the province of Ramgarh and Supa, these coins later became one of the principle coins of the region and were known as ‘Peerkhani’ rupees, from the alias of the Governor, who was a devout and respected man.
