Sawant Wadi, Khem Sawant III alias Bapusaheb Sawant, Copper Paisa, 7.05g, Obv: Devnagari legend "Raja KhemSawant" in three lines, Rev: Devnagari legend "Bahadur" in two lines. Very fine, extremely rare./nlThe coin is counterstruck on East India Company’s issues from Bankot mint, commonly referred to as ‘local South Konkan’ coinage, struck in 1820-21. This clearly shows that coins in the name of KhemSawant III continued to be struck at Sawantwadi even after his death, which is fact otherwise unknown.
