Independence Hall Souvenir- Piece Of The Beam That Supported The Wooden Floor. The lot features a 2" x 3.2" piece of wood which was removed from the beam that supported the floor in Independence Hall in the city of Philadelphia. It was removed by the city in 1897, during the restoration of the Hall. The building itself was build between 1732 and 1753, designed by Edmund Wooley and Alexander Hamilton in the Georgian style of architecture; it stands on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. Many historic events have taken place within the walls of this building, including; the Second Continental Congress, the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, and the drafting and signing of the Constitution. Imagine owning a piece of the building where the principles of our nation were discussed and adopted; where the founding fathers sweated out debates and discussions which framed how we live today; where thousand of feet have tread to experience a little piece of our birth as a nation. <r The wood is very fine condition; it is displayed in a small leather folio, the folio has two small silver insets which feature the seals of the United States and Philadelphia. An attractive display.
