Independence Day NASA Moon Prototype Props
Independence Day NASA Moon Prototype Props - The Oscar winning hit action Sci-Fi classic, Independence Day (1996) begins with a shot of the landmarks and materials left over from the July 20th, 1969 landing on the Moon. The camera moves through the flag, the plaque, and the bottom-half of the lunar craft and focuses on the iconic footprints of the Astronauts on the Moon's surface. Then, the footprints begin to vibrate! As we pull back we see that a massive alien spaceship is flying overhead, on its way to Earth. Thus begins the invasion and the grand battle to save Earth. The Moon is used one more time as more alien ships fly over it. Director Roland Emmerich was very careful of just want images are seen throughout the film. Many variations were created for him to pick just the right sets, costumes, and props. This was obtained directly from 20th Century Fox Studios which produced this epic film. It is a production made early variation of some NASA hardware left on the moon for these sequences. [PUT DETAILS AND DIMENSIONS HERE]
