Important original Sharps Model 1874 Sporting rifle, .40 cal., 30” Hartford heavy octagon barrel marked “Freund & Bro.” on top barrel flat ahead of the caliber stamping, blue and case hardened finish, checkered wood forestock that shows period key to barrel and horn fore end tip; checkered pistol grip deluxe wood shotgun style butt stock with grooved horn butt plate and horn pistol grip cap, #156039 on receiver and also onunderside of barrel. This gun is in overall very good to fine condition showing a plum brown patina on barrel with Lawrence ladder rear sight and silver blade front sight; silvery toning to case hardened receiver with several spots of erosion, double set triggers, fore stock shows pommel wear; the butt stock shows beautiful graining with some scattered wear and mars from carry and storage; top tang is slightly raised at endbut can be easily corrected; very good bore, crisp action, very good markings including an upside down “70” on the right flat of the barrel at the breech and an interesting period punch dot “40h” on the left flat of

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
