Important first year of production Colt “pinched” frame SAA revolver, .45 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue finish, two line Patent address, italic barrel address with unusually short barrel index mark at barrel’s junction with frame, German silver frontsight, donut hole ejector, wood grips, #51, accompanied by four separate factory letters dated Sept. 18, 1968; Jan. 22, 1981; Sept. 13, 1985 and Sept. 6, 2013, each confirming caliber and finish with barrel length and type of stock “Notlisted”; all also indicating shipment to Schuyler, Hartley & Graham, New York, N.Y. on September 2, 1873, 9 guns of same type in shipment. A “Remarks” section in the September 6, 2013 letter mentions “As noted above, the records do notprovide information with regard to the barrel length of subject revolver or the type of stocks. However, this is usually an indication of a 7-1/2” barrel length and walnut stocks as these were considered standard issue for that period oftime”. Also, the “Remarks” section in the 1981 and 1985 letters note “Serial Numbers 50, 31, 41, 59, 60, 33, 58, & 43 comprised in this shipment”, indicating these were the other 8 guns in the shipment with #51 going to S, H & G.
