The Clark Gable Shotgun as known and shown in articles, books, and the Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum, S/N 1141026. Roy purchased this pump gun from Clark Gable in 1958. The Story: Clark was having a bad day at the trap field, finding it difficult to hit anything. After coming off the trap field, he held up the shotgun and begged someone to make an offer for the S.O.B. shotgun! Roy quickly ran over to Clark and bought the gun for $600. Roy promptly went out and shot 50 clays in-a-row, and from that moment on it was Roy’s favorite! He didn’t bother with another shotgun after that. Roy became such an accomplished shotgunner that it is said World Champion Shooter, Robert Stack would not shoot against him. Mentioned in all the important Model 12 books and brochures, this is probably the most well known of all the Model 12 shotguns.
