with loaded chambers, found on the Wyoming Jim Bridger Trail in 1915. Bridger Trail connected the Oregon Trail to the gold field and rush of Montana after discovery in 1863. The revolver includes attached old collectors tag "This gun was found by GW Hales, when herding sheep for Garrett Russell (1915) it was partly buried in sand at the top of low mountain looking (over) the Kirby Creek about 15 miles up the creek from Kirby". Revolver remains complete, matching serial numbers 204562, barrel remains packed with sand. Wood grips added by consignor for display purposes. From an early Wyoming collection. Antique.
