The fall Lamp & Glass auction will be this division’s first sale in the new James D. Julia facility. As many of you know we have had a busy summer in demolishing our old auction facility and rebuilding a much larger modern gallery. With the completion of our new building we have tripled the size of our facility and we are extremely anxious to have our first sale here. And what a sale it will be! This quite possibly is the finest selection of art glass and lamps we have ever offered. Starting with the exceptional Tiffany peacock feather which comes from a private home in the Midwest, we have put together a collection of extremely fine Tiffany. Just one of the highlights is a very important Tiffany cameo creamer, which was purchased by our consignor from Christian Revi and was highlighted in Revi’s book American Art Nouveau Glass. The creamer is from the ex-collection of A. Douglas Nash. Other highlights of the auction include French Cameo glass featuring a Gallé marquetry pitcher, an extremely rare Daum Nancy vase with applied dragonfly as well as a spectacular Daum perfume burner with applied dragonfly. The Daum applied dragonfly pieces are extremely rare and we are very fortunate to have two fine pieces in this sale. Along with the glass listed above, we once again have a fine offering of rare Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre incl. a large Malfrey pot in Ghostly Woods pattern, a monumental vase with Imps on a Bridge, a Lahore bowl and much, much more with over 15 pcs of rare Wedgwood Lustre. As usual we have a nice coll. of Steuben incl. a rare Tyrian vase and wonderful covered bowl with rigaree top. Once again, we will have a fine offering of other art glass incl. Loetz, Quezal, Victorian, G. Argy Rousseau, Le Verre, A. Walter and much, much more. Our offering of over 60 fine lamps will incl. Tiffany, Steuben, Handel, Classique, Pairpoint, Daum Nancy, Le Verre Francais and more.
