Important Design + Postwar & Contemporary Art

Auction Details

The Important Design series will feature a stunning selection of rare and new-to-the-market works spanning all decades and styles.

Italian master Gio Ponti is represented by numerous significant lots: his room from the IX Triennale of Milan, an iconic coffee table from his Villa Arreaza commission and several pieces from the Vembi-Burroughs offices. Carlo Mollino, Ico Parisi and others round out the ever-popular Italian offerings. Museum-quality works by mid-century French designers Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouve will be sold alongside contemporary designers like Ron Arad, the Campana brothers and Guy de Rougemont. Further selections include American classics by George Nakashima, Vladimir Kagan and Paul Evans. In all, the sale features an international array of works emblematic of the character and quality of 20th and 21st century design.

Session two, held on December 11th, also includes nearly 100 lots of post war and contemporary artworks by artists Philip Guston, Nam Jun Paik, Andy Warhol and Ad Reinhardt among others.
