An extreme rare Blue & white with yellow ground Famille-rose ?MEIPING? Vase with Qianlong Mark and Period. This unusual ?Meiping? Vase offers an interesting and rare example of QING Dynasty ceramics. Because the vase is painted and surrounded by four straight dancing dragons, it was considered only for the King collection only. Seeing that no one dared to use ?yellow ground? in combination dragons motif, only it was intentionally doing for the King. There are only a few two known examples, one of which is in the Beijing Imperial Palace. Its refined form, curving out at the shoulder from a narrow base, and its fully coated surface are features associated with traditional Qing Dynasty (1644-1795) models. The Qianlong Emperor was not only an enthusiastic patron of arts, he was also an avid collector of antiques in a wide range of different collections.
