The magnificent and very imaginatively designed jug from India is made of embossed sheet metal with a copper alloy. On a background with scale pattern are depicted ribbons with floral motif, tendrils, animals in cartouches, figurative depictions, and a scroll. The handle, lid and spout are designed in form of sculptural figures. The spout in form of a dragon's head, which ‘spits out’ the content of the jug, is particularly striking.

The jug has a beautiful patina and normal wear marks, but is in good overall condition. The dimensions are 56 x 33 cm. The diameter of the mouth is 9 cm, and the one of the base 14 cm. The lidded jug weighs about 2.95 kilograms.
