(Rio de Janeiro: Livraria Sao Jose, 1960), first edition, preface and plate captions in Portuguese, 16 pages plus 43 full-page watercolor plates with protective tissue inserts by Carlos Juliao, beautiful half morocco leather binding with marbled boards, five raised spine bands with gilt titles and decoration, elephant folio (13.5” x 19”), wear to the leather at the head and tail of spine and corners, light scuffing and shelf wear to the boards, contents bright and in fine condition. Carlos Juliano was an Italian artist who lived most of his life in Rio de Janeiro during the 18th century.
