Illinois Abolitionist and Statesman Isaac Arnold Autograph Letter Signed “Isaac N. Arnold”. One page, 5” x 8”, Chicago, April 20, 1882, to Robert E. Thompson, slightly toned with mounting remnants on the verso, else very good. Arnold had obviously just authored a short piece on Benedict Arnold for I. M. Stoddart & Company. He writes in part: “…enclosing proof of Benedict Arnold, which I will immediately read & correct & return to you. Meanwhile please ask I. M. Stoddart & Co. to send me the little sum for writing it, which although, so small, is not to be disregarded by me, who had everything burned in the great Chicago fire.” Ex. Henry E. Luhrs Collection.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
