This is an early Native American fur trade silver worked cross believed to be from the Illini Tribe. The piece was recovered at an Indian Village site in Monroe, Illinois and is from circa 1780. The piece shows a large cross design with wheat plants on each arm with the center showing a sandhill crane holding a snake. Scarcely seen artifact from the Illini Upper Missouri Indian Confederation. Measures 5.25"x7.25".
